A few days after Dan Coast, Red Baxter, and Skip Stoner return from Lake Pruitt, after the events in Hot For Teacher, Skip receives an urgent phone call from Butch Carter. Lake Pruitt's police chief, Waylon Harding, and his wife, Harper, have been murdered.
